: Couple things, epoxy gel coat is not easy to find, most is polyester and
: polyester doesn't stick to epoxy well.
: Secondly gelcoat is designed to go into a mold, it obtains it's nice smooth

: externally. It can be done, but it comes out as a fairly rough surface
: that has to be sanded smooth then polished to get a nice flat smooth

You also have to spray it with a special wax sealer, a pain. I would check with West Epoxy for some thing better than gel coats. I did gel coat repairs in the 70's and hated it.
