Thanks, yes, I've seen that mail trail - it was some of the reviews on it, and some other posts on the same site, which attracted me to the Rockhopper.

You're right about the flare, particularly at the bow where it is *very* extreme. I could do that in S&G but am fundamentally lazy and didn't want to put another chine or two in, which it might need. So I stuck to a longer nose, aiming overall to get a similar effect of plenty of bouyancy upfront. I won't have as much as the RockHopper though.

I also don't want to just copy it slavishly, but to learn from the overall concept.
