: Don't know if that is what your looking for, but one of my favorites is
: mixing a can of mixed nuts, some raisins and plain M&M's. I store them in
: a zip-lock bag and keep them handy. I think I could live off those for a
: couple of days.

Good idea! I have to do one final run to the store tomorrow...I will pick up a can of mixed nuts. I bought two bags of Skittles so my sweet tooth should be satisfied. During the last leg of this trip, I chased a bear across the river (for the picture) and developed a sudden craving for Skittles. I landed in Brosseu (sp?) and walked up the the local establishment. Didn't find any Skittles but I did find a beautifully free meal including a bison burger. The trade off was that I had to tell what I was doing on the river. The guy I was talking to was born with his nose exactly sideways on his face. He knew I was staring at it but he wouldn't say anything about it - neither would I. He turned out to be a real story teller so we traded tales till it was time for me to leave.

: Looking forward to making an epic trip like that someday.

It isn't so difficult to do one like this. Start building up your equipment over a few years so that the cost doesn't bite your wallet all at once, then arrange the ride to the put-in and put-out. Gas and motel will be the worst of the expenses once it happens.
