Hi Bill

That is a good idea. Getting into the ends is a pain but that would really solve the problem.

For sheerclamps I usually just use two extra cedar strips each side laminated into place. The extra weight is negligible and they follow the curve easilly. I do this after inner glassing.

I figure the method is plenty strong if thickened epoxy is used to glue down the deck.
