During the past few weeks I've had the pleasure of watching Gary Dierking build an outrigger canoe here in Fiji. In just two weeks or so, he transformed a few sheets of plywood and a few boards into a magnificant 6+ meter sailing canoe!

Gary is a pro at this stuff (author of a book on the subject; link below), so I've learned a few things from him. He'll be here for a few months sailing around northeast Viti Levu island.

Me? I'm halfway through a couple of S&G Cirrus kayaks, with my own low-wind resistance decks. Fishing a lot.
