In Response To: Strip: Cockpit Coaming Lip (Peter Sebbage)

: Hi,

: I'm building up a laminated timber coaming lip for my stripper. I have some
: vague recollections that the lip should not project out at 90 degrees from
: the vertical riser. Is this true?

: Also what should the finish thickness of the lip be? I'm assuming that a
: spray deck will grip a thinner lip better but a thicker lip would be
: stronger so it's a bit of a trade off.

It's normally at a 90 degree angle. Any more and it would be difficult to get the skirt off, any less and the skirt won't be secure.
