Bill, I don't doubt that at all. I came up with the extrusion when I knew little about the external method and wanted to stick with the designer provided instructions. One plus for the extrusion, you can change the station locations infinetely, allowing one to build another design with the same strongback quite easily.

However, I wouldn't recommend it over anything else. I just thought it was appropriate to mention it with respect to the original question regarding aluminium studs.
