: Without a floor at the feet it feels funny getting in and worrying about your
: feet digging the skin into some rock, but so far I've been fine with my
: feet on the skin. I wear neoprene socks as there isn't room for sandals in
: there so it ends up just being part of feeling the boat move with the
: water. Extra floor could even be worth avoiding as the only places I've
: dinged the skin besides along stringers and ribs was where the seat was
: the anvil to a chisel-shaped rock.

: Tom encouraged me to position a rib at my personal length but as this was my
: first boat I preferred to leave it at the design position and work it out
: with trimmed pieces of blue board so I can experiment. It also leaves room
: for installing a pump (still sitting on the bench downstairs). It's at
: least 8 L extra flotation as a bonus.

I use narrow floorboard on all my Yost boats. Even though the fabric I use is pretty bullet proof I still don't like abrading it's surface.
