In Response To: Off Topic: Roof Racks ? (Reg_B)

I have been using Thule for years now with good results. Sure, they are expensive but compared to the cheap racks I have used in the past, Thule (or Yakima) is worth the money. My old cheap racks collapsed or wobbled or did not grip the car well enough to cause me some degree of confidence that my kayak would be on the car once I hit highway speed. I have used my Thule with foam supports (cheap way to go) but have since purchased the kayak cradles, which make loading and unloading easier. I still use the foam blocks for my second kayak but will eventually get an extra set of cradles. I don't use any kind of gadget for loading/unloading since the dead-lift or slide-from-one-end methods work well for me right now. You can get rollers that assist in loading but again, they are $$$.
