Yes it is a nice band saw. One of those things someone of greater skill usually has but I got it on a good barter...so, lucky me. I use it for the great precision cuts I can make with it. Only big bends are at the bow and stern where the forms are smaller and done with a scroll saw, where I use the drill as you suggest. Torque and breaking a form was my concern and didn't want a surprise when I started stripping.

Forms are of particle board and will stay flat.
