The Nikumi 19 is a contender for my next kayak along with the Sea Rider and the Roll-darka. I guess the Nikumi 19 would be the fastest in a sprint but not as stable initially as the other two , if only slightly .

: Yes 29 lbs was better than I hoped for. What I did was plane my boards down
: to 5/8 then riped the gunnels and stringers to their plan size of .75 for
: stringers and 1.5 for gunnels. I also kept the epoxy to the smallest glue
: joint that was practical. I did this by using a Popsicle stick to form the
: smallest fillet I could. I used oak planed to .25 inch for floor boards.
