Thanks Bryan,

I use sandpaper on glass now, and will use it for lapping new blades and rough dressing. As for the better deal on Amazon, why'd ya have to tell me that??? I don't want to know these things AFTER I spent the money!!! Anyway, I'm happy, and the company had great communication with me after the sale. Also a lot of places will not ship to the island and these guys did for free, so I'm happy.

I have also read that the 4000 may or may not be nescessary, but I have grown up sharpening knives using gradual steps between grits, and old habbits are hard to break. Not saying it's right, but it's just engrained in me that you have to step up gradually. Had I not gotten the kit, I still was going to get the same grits. One thing I'm worried about is that the 220 is going to wear so much faster than the 1000 on the other side, but I just didn't want to spend the money for the thicker single stones right now. "Scary Sharp" is working so good for me that I started to just get the fine stones to finish up after the sandpaper, but couldn't pass up the deal on the kit.
