Ah, isn't the Storm LT a sweet little boat? I used primarily WRC, as well, with an accent stripe of mahogany, and 'accent' quarterstrips of basswood. I used the basswood for the external stems, as well - as far as I can tell, you can use anything you want - you'll probably have two layers of glass over it.
