: The new year is quickly approaching and I hope to be finished with
: my first build this spring. I would like to get to a few wooden
: boat shows or kayak meets this summer, show off my build and see
: and test paddle others. Maybe zero in on my next build. Being
: new to kayaking I'm not real familiar with events yet. I'd like
: to keep it local but wouldn't mind traveling to one can't miss
: event. I am located in Minnesota but east or west coast not
: totally out of the question.

: I'm looking for event names, dates, locations, links, maybe a bit
: of a review.

: Below are a few that come to mind. Not sure if there is much like
: this in the midwest.

: West Coast Wooden Kayak Rendezvous R2K10
: Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival

Biggest paddling show around most anywhere is in Madison, WI: Canoecopia. They have a web site.

Ross Leidy I think has a get together in MI, been wanting to go myself but things keep coming up. Probably find more info on the Kayak Foundry website (Ross's site).
