I've completed the forms. They were a little difficult at first because I was new to it, but I think they came out really accurate because I studied everything for a long time before I started drawing. I guess I don't really need to know the shapes of the forms where the cockpit cutout will be. I was just trying to follow the advice in "The Strip Built Kayak". I will take your suggestion to use 3/16" strips. This seems to be what most people are recommending (for flexibility?). And it does seem like a good idea to have as much contact as possible between the strips and the forms toward the ends.
