What are you guys complaining for? I just gave you a whole new set of reasons to buy new tools and make more trips to the toy store (Home Depot/Lowe's/Ace/etc.) Your wives will hate me, but that's the whole point- you can blame me and take some of the burden off yourselves. What are friends for? "Honey, it's not me, really, it's this guy Malcolm's fault. He's to blame for all of this. Sorry about the sawdust all over the house and the expoxy drippings on the garage floor. Malcolm's the guy you need to be mad at." Go ahead, I don't mind. That's what friends are for.

By the way, if she won't let you buy the tools, then do what my dad did. He bought a bunch of tools and told the hardware store to hold them, and to call the house and say that he had won their monthly tool giveaway and that he could come down and pick up his tools. Mom seemed a little suspicious that the tool giveaway just happened to have the exact tools he wanted, but dad got away with it. Gotta love it.
