Lucky dog - must be warm enough where you live! I'm still waiting - 17 degrees F this morning....

Sounds like you've done your research - time to just dive in. Starting was by far the hardest part; once it got going, it was pretty easy. Thankfully, this is a fairly forgiving hobby.

And fwiw - I'd say the biggest 'mistake' I made on my first was trying to make that boat just a little bit stronger - ie, using 'extra' epoxy - and all I got was a heavier than needed boat. Less is more.
