I am building a guillemot using 3/4 bead and cove 1/4 inch strips. I have put on five strips per side and have run into the first hard spot. To this point I have not needed to use cheater strips but now at form 16 I have a 1/4 to 3/8 gap from the strip to the form, at form 15 I managed to force the strip to stay against the form but just.
I believe that the next strip I do I should let it run where it wants at this end and fill whatever gap after, so that it stays true to form 15, but at this point form 16 ( the one cut and hot glued to the stem) is going to be left with this gap. It looks like I am only one strip away from completely covering this form.

The question... Should I seperate the last two strips back to form 15 or so and try to get them to stay down on form 16 by using some cheaters, or is form 16 out of the waterline (I think it is) and so this won't be that bad as long as I make sure the strips follow form 15 perfectly. From what I read the guillemot really benifits from this area of the hull so if I am going to screw things up I don't want it to be here.

Any thoughts from anyone who knows this design would be great, maybe if I am lucky from the designer himself? Mr. Schade are you reading?
