I've never paid attention but they must have some way to cool the blade, biggest problem with bandsaws and plastics is the blade gets hot and melts the plastic the further you cut, foam is definately plastic and drags more on the blade causing more heat, thus more problems. Perhaps an air jet could be used to cool the blade?
