I guess I am going to regret using ash for the stems if I'll need to take'em down a bit before glassing :)

: I just used WRC for internal stems on my Black Pearl. I glued the
: strip ends right to the stem. Once I glassed the outside of the
: hull, I took a chisel and trimmed the internal stem down so that
: it made I nice wood fillet. A bit of rough sandpaper smoothened
: evertything nicely. There's actually very little wood left and
: the convenience of having a landing place for the strips was
: great!!
