6 oz glass soaks up a lot of epoxy. I also used a fair bit of 2" 6 oz tape on the keel and inside sheer. The bulkheads were taped in a swell. But my boats are strictly for hard ocean going so I want them really strong. They're paddled in very harsh conditions (I've never had the luxury to land on a sandy beach yet) so I'll take the weight. My Point Bennett is 18 foot long and I'm guessing weighs about 50 lbs or less. Took about 1.75 gals as there was a bit left over to start the Black Pearl.

My Black Pearl is 18.5 and probably will weigh about 30 lbs or so.
