In Response To: Material: slick surface tape (Douglas Lee)

: Hello,

: I have found that epoxy bonds to; blue tape, green tape and regular
: masking tape. Has anyone tried using a slick surface tape
: like duct tape on the edges of station forms and the inner stems?

: Thanks

As Etienne says, packing tape works well. Here (BC,Canada) the clear stuff is cheap from the office supply places, and works.
Duct tape also works OK.
Lately I've been using some of the red tape used to join Tyvek building wrap, and poly vapour barrier. It's very sticky (unlike some of the older and cheaper duct tape I have around the shop) and nothing seems to stick to the shiny side. I used it to wrap a (sacrificial) foam mold for an epoxy/glass/CF coaming recently- it worked v. well and was strong when I was removing the foam.
You are on the right track with doing experiments, BTW. It's good policy when working with resins and finishes.
