Clear packing tape is a great bond breaker under epoxy. 3M Scotch Packing tape is my preferred band mainly because it does not leave its glue behind stuck on the epoxy like budget brands do. Avoid the heavy weight 3M Scotch tape because it does not stretch easy enough to use for “stretch tape clamping” and it costs more per foot. 3M Tartan brand also works but is really thin (costs even less) but it tears if you are not careful.
