Hi Dan,

I built up the thickness and strength of the coaming in pigmented glass. Sanded that flat and even then layed on one big piece of CF on the bias across the whole top of the coaming. Let the resin get tacky before hand so that it doesn't slide about once pressed down. Cut the hole out of the middle of the CF (wasteful I know!) and snip outwards until the fabric distorts under the deck. In some places it only covers the vertical face and a few strands pull but it doesn't look too bad. My coaming profile is rounded and not very tall which helps.

Covered this with a strip of bias-cut glass and clear resin, where the join wets out and disappears.

I had a similar problem with ugly joins under the coaming rim but luckily people tend not to look there!
