Well, go for it. Anyone can get more or less useful ideas that work fine on paper or screen, but having the opportunity, patience and skills to make it work in everyday life is what's really valuable here. And that's what make the ideas useful for the lot of us.

I myself don't have the opportunity to experiment with this yet, so I'm looking forward to see how You're getting along with your hatch construction.

BTW what do you mean by European-style hinges
