Well, I can't help you with either of these, but I can add to the confusion. Give Robert Morris' book a try as well. I'm your size and NOBODY makes jokes. Actually, I'm 6'3" and 250 and I can still raise my feet high enough to plant them firmly in someones Posterior at a moments notice.

I haven't seen either of the books/boats you mentioned, but mr. Morris' method basically builds the boat to fit YOU, using your own body to take the measurements. Sorry for the added confusion.
