> The "skin" is an extruded, corrugated polyproplyene. It's repairable by using silicone caulk & tape. There's a new option for the hull. It's the above material with the wetted surface covered with a polyurethane film or tape. It's 15 mils thick. This material is used in aviation (by the military) to protect helicopter blades from abrasion & wear. I built one & launched it in early July. I just had the hull "retrofitted" with the polyu. I think it was worth the extra cost. The boat was quick & easy to build. Handles great. Easy to paddle, tracks well & rides very dry in up to 2' chop (I haven't been out in anything rougher yet). I wouldn't want to regularly launch or land in the surf, but other than that I think it should hold up very well. They have a good warranty. Keep me posted.
