That's looking real good John. You might want to score the vertical plastic flange with the holes deeply with some 80 grit sandpaper or even by cutting a crosshatch pattern with a razor knife (watch your fingers!) to increase your bonding surface area. The holes are a good idea, but you might find that the goop just squeezes out of them.

It squeezed up through the screw holes in the perimeter of my day hatch, and was very rubbery. I grabbed each "nub" with pliers, pulled it up a little and sliced it off so it sat back down below the edge and looked more finished. It kept shrinking away from the knife blade until I tensioned it, which made it easier to cut it neatly. Might put a strip of tape around the inside of the flange before you schmoo it and glue it to keep it from squeezing out?

I agree with the dry fit idea in the previous post.
