: That's looking real good John. You might want to score the vertical plastic
: flange with the holes deeply with some 80 grit sandpaper or even by
: cutting a crosshatch pattern with a razor knife (watch your fingers!) to
: increase your bonding surface area. The holes are a good idea, but you
: might find that the goop just squeezes out of them.

: It squeezed up through the screw holes in the perimeter of my day hatch, and
: was very rubbery. I grabbed each "nub" with pliers, pulled it up
: a little and sliced it off so it sat back down below the edge and looked
: more finished. It kept shrinking away from the knife blade until I
: tensioned it, which made it easier to cut it neatly. Might put a strip of
: tape around the inside of the flange before you schmoo it and glue it to
: keep it from squeezing out?

All good ideas Thomas. I will be putting on my last coat of epoxy this morning. I should have a picture of the tube in the kayak in by Monday if nothing goes wrong. I did try it in the kayak and I can get in and sit down OK. That was worrying me.
