I have converted to Epifanes 2-part poly clear gloss on my last 3 boats. The SeaStar has been in service for 2 years with the origional finish still in show condition. It stays clear. I have no problems with brush marks, perhaps because I add 1 part brush thinner (2 component thinner) and apply with a 2" poly brush....the finest cell foam I can find. I followed the advice from One Ocean Kayaks website. Vaclav used the Interlux version, Interthane Plus. Check out his instructional page.
Good luck.....Ted.
