Hi Robert,
I don't get that litre per 100km thing, nor do most people here, and we use km and litre! Not having gallons and such listed, I go for km/litre for fuel comsumption, the other way isn't intuitive.
I still use imperial in some cases, but mostly metric. One of the problems with non-metric measures is the differences, like gallons. Half a litre difference between Imperial and US is a bit confusing. Saying ounce to me means weight, not volume. I haven't a clue how much is in a cup as a measure, a cup is a drink holding device, some bigger than others. :)

Thank goodness for conversion tables. But you still have to know which 'Imperial' system is used.
