: well litres/100km its more something in Italy we use to make supereasy to
: understand how far can you go with your tank, i find now people that use
: it for consumption and that isnt that handy too, for that its just
: "so many km per 1 liter".
: Here gallons are a mess i never know if its english gallons or american
: gallons, dividing by 12 first, then going in base 8 doesnt make any sense
: to me.

Well, I know that I can get ~320 kms outta one tank of gas driving with the wind(1982 Toyota Tercel), so that's all that really matters to me.

: And when i cook i still go nuts if i follow a recipe (cakes only,
: go by eye for other stuff) thanks to cups, tablespoons and teaspoons,
: ounces etc. if i hear talking about stones i just give up.

My grandmother taught me to cover the palm of my hand with salt when making bannock - works for me. It was the saucepan of water/milk that got me panicking - didn't know what size saucepan she was using so I had to find it and pour water from it to figure out its volume. The only thing I know about stones is that they break the hull of my kayak. :D

: Its even weirder because i come from jewellery so im used to think about
: ounces that arent the same ounces you guys use and keep getting confused.

I can't quite remember what an ounce is except that gold is still priced by one and I don't own any gold.

: If your problem its for seeing then you should choose a better tape measure,
: there are some that mark differently centimeters, half centimeters and
: millimeters, so its very easy to see. And you cant tellme that its easier
: to see a 1/32 than a mm.... or maybe you can....what can you do habits are
: habits....

Exactly! Then again, if I lean back enough and move my glasses to the tip of my nose - only then can I see a 1/8th or 1/32th marking. I never really bother to measure closer than 1/16th though, don't need to - that's what painter's caulking is made for. :D
