Strip: Cedar thickness

Unfortunately, most cedar is used for siding and not structural and they can get away with that. It seems to have happened in the last 5-6 years. On my first stripper I bought 5/4 cedar decking. Sometimes when things a labeled for decking you can find thicker stock. Cedar decking is fairly non-existant these days but you can try and ask around. Your thinner stock is fine for the build and it will just take a strip or two more. I have used excatly what you now have as well and also didn't realize until I was matching it up to other wood.
