Have you done a force balance on your rig? Your leeboard seems very far fwd in relation to the sail CE (even with your foresail). You will have trouble with upwind performance.

: Moved the boats outside while a new garage door is being installed so I had a
: chance to assemble the AKA/AMA I bought from Folbot along with the strut
: supports I built patterned after the Balogh struts. The leeboard is
: finished and was built to NACA 0009 foil specifications, as will be a new
: rudder I am building now. Next will be a new larger mast to take the high
: aspect sail from the link Daren posted. The old setup could barely sail up
: wind and I didn't know why. So in the spring before I use the new sail I
: need to try the old one with the new leeboard and rudder to see if this
: was the problem. So far our winter has been decent as you can see for IN.
