Snowman, consider the blue sails scrapped and the high aspect sail will be the new one. I know what you are saying though, if the center of effort of the sail was over the center of lateral resistance of the lee board then the leeboard would have to be moved backwards if used with the high aspect sail. Why the Balogh rigged type of sail system or Folbot or Feathercraft and others that are similar work well is beyond me. I would think the leeboard should be moved aft for the sail to leeboard position to be correct. But it seems to work. Look at the 66 pictures link and you will see that the rigging group system as I will call it can be placed almost anywhere on the kayaks/boats and work. I originally had ce/clr problems in my earlier experiments. The new foil leeboard is correct to NACA 0009 foil standard with a recommended optimal 36 inches of wetted surface but this makes my leeboard huge and heavy. 9"x52" and built of oak. The leeboard is to be 4 to 5% of the sail area for technical correctness and the rudder about half that as I understand. Also my very long leeboard can be tilted back helping the effort/resistance relationship. Also the high aspect sail along with the foil leeboard and foil rudder is supposed to increase the windward sailing ability. So what I have in mind should work but I don't know why it works.
