All of the area of the hull in profile below the waterline.

In Rhino, select the profile view of your hull (typically, the Front box of the screen layout). Create a rectangular plane surface that is longer and deeper than the hull. Move it until it bisects the hull down the centerline from fore to aft in the Top box. Locate the upper edge of the rectangular surface along the waterline of the design. Be precise with this or the area will be innaccurate. Select all the the hull surfaces and hit Control T (trim) Then click on the rectangular plane surface outside of the hull. All extraneous surface material will be removed, leaving only the surface that represents the lateral area.

Go to the pull-down menu and drag from the analyze box until you arrive at Mass Properties. First click on centroid, revealing the center of the lateral plane. Then repeat for area. The figure for the area will be shown just above the Command line. Measure the distance of the centroid from both the bow as well as the stern stem, Measure, also, the distance fom the lowest point of the lateral plane to the centroid. Record these values as well as the area.
