19 foot pygmy - look out elephants

Yo Myrl

Me again. I must confess that I opted for a non-recessed cockpit on my Guillemot S&G. Mainly because I wanted to easily enter and exit my kayak as I am Big, old, creaky and very inflexible (bad back sufferer). I was also too lazy a builder to do the recessed cockpit thing. The sit on top cockpit certainly facilitates entry and secretly I think it is in keeping with the eskimo-esque looks of the guillemot S&G. Just something else to consider when you build your Guillemot S&G!

Yet another option for you is the pygmy boat range:

www.pygmyboats.com

In particular they have a 19' expedition version of their Queen Charlotte kayak.
They only sell it as a kit, but in American dollars they are probably very good value, have all the ingredients and with the pre-cut panels will boost your building programme to a successfull and quick finish. I believe most of the pygmy boats are aimed towards good load carrying and are orientated for extended expedition activities and at least one or all of their designs may be a good option for you?

cheers Pete
