thanx bobby,

guessing some other ideas for helping w/ alignment:

-make all winding sticks EXACTLY the same length, so just sighting down the ends will also give a quick check.

-mark the centreline and/or make quick pairs of winding sticks w/ even stops at say 18",15",12" etc w/ the c/l marked. then just slide them on where they jam and check alignment and twist. Or jam them from the i/s if the beam is imprecise and the sticks are for the beam also.

-another idea would be to make the winding sticks out of say opposing 16"x16"'L's that you tape together, marking the c/l or beam but also the depth from sheer w/ a black mark. then can align for twist, side offset and hogging.

- another idea is since they're s&g and you're using wires that can come out at any time, why not 'wire' in longitudinal strings that you pull/clip out (or not - cut out later)as the last piece removed from the hull.Put one from the stern peak to the bow peak. (Maybe even another another one line going from 1-2" below the stern peak to 5" below the bow peak.) As stand at the rear(and then bow) sighting the line and the keelline, they must be able to be aligned or there is offset of the keel.

- using the bow stern pk to pk line, if the winding sticks had little triangles w/ vertical slots cut in them at the c/l, those could also be used.
