In Response To: s&g offset and alignment ideas (mike allen --->)

: - another idea is since they're s&g and you're using wires that can come out
: at any time, why not 'wire' in longitudinal strings that you pull/clip out
: (or not - cut out later)as the last piece removed from the hull.Put one
: from the stern peak to the bow peak. (Maybe even another another one line
: going from 1-2" below the stern peak to 5" below the bow peak.)
: As stand at the rear(and then bow) sighting the line and the keelline,
: they must be able to be aligned or there is offset of the keel.

if temporary or permanent bulkheads were being used, there's no reason why not to use the string thru the bow/stern join lines and thru a hole in the bulkheads. if temporary, can use lots of holes, even from 2 or 3 bow locations and say parallel chine lines join intersections. if permanent bulkhead, you're goin to put a hole in them anyway for the venting so use the holes for aligning too. clip them out whenever in way OR just use friction on the outside to pull out of way and then pull tight to check.
