In Response To: Strip: Cutting a "patch" (Chas Bernstein)

Like Rob suggests, I would investigate fixes that don't require removing any wood. If you can reach under, you might be able to fit a piece of wood from below to block the hole.

: Last week I posted a question regarding a very "thin" piece of deck
: close to the bow of my Expedition Sport under construction caused by my
: inexperience of stripping. The feedback was to "patch" the thin
: section before glassing.

: What tools would board members recommend for cutting a triangular patch that
: can be filled with new strips? Chisels seem a bit neaderthal, a pull saw
: seems a bit clumsy and a router seems a bit risky. Any suggestions would
: be GREATLY appreciated!!
