: Hi David,

: Someone can correct if I am wrong but I believer Methanol alcohol that we
: used is distilled from wood and Ethanol alcohol, the kind you drink is
: distilled from grain. We bought it in 55 gal. drums and used it for all of
: our epoxy cleanup. It can make your skin flake if you leave your hands in
: it too long. I also used the hand cream made for epoxy protection. I just
: took all of the precautions I could. I was in several different
: patternshops and they all use alcohol to clean up with.

Don't ever touch Methanol with your bare hand. It is readily absorb through skin. It is highly toxic -- Make you blind and may kill you with less than half a shot. Ethanol is what we (shoulde not) drink in party. Isopropanol is what we use as rubbing alcohol. The longer the carbon chain, the less likely it would absorb through skin. The shorter the more violatile, so we have to worry more on the fume as well.
Hope this would help.
