Hi John,

We have water, its just not moving much at them moment. In a month or so the flows will be higher as the irrigation demand rises prior to the grape harvest.
The river acts essentially as a supply channel now and is regulated to run high over summer and low over winter..... a reversal of the natural cycle.
At this stage we (I am an environmental engineer with one of the water authorities up here) have our full allocation of water for the year.
We were originally going to get only 16% of it but some good rains in the cathments have saved us from that. The Darling River however is in a lot of trouble... not much water coming from north... Salinity is high and flow has all but stopped.
