: I've had a similar experience with my metabo RO sander. I ended up getting
: frustrated and ordering a new pad for it. Much better now. I think that
: heat and epoxy dust is a bit of a nasty environment for velcro style
: fastening.

Yes, I too had to replace the velcro pad on my Porter Cable...I'm thinking of keeping some in stock.

: this is a very good sugestion. I will try this next time, the scraper took
: off most of my hot glue but it would be better if it never even touched
: the boat.
: It is nicest where you have epoxied the parts already.

Even so, the bond isn't perfect....but at least it's easy enough to clean up.

: Whoops! by wonky I mean wobbly... bit of slang sneaking in there.

Keep it goin'. I enjoy that part of all our interaction on the KBBB. I've done some traveling, though I haven't yet made it to the Great Continent of Australia, or the Beautiful Islands of New Zealand. They're both on my list though.

: I understand this problem fully and will probably replace my aluminium and
: plastic pegs with a Schade style footbrace in the near future when I get
: sick of them. The WR has a high deck and a wide cockpit which makes this a
: big problem.

Small consulation to know I'm not the only one suffering for my "art".

: Does the copper stitching that is left in in a couple of difficult spots
: count as fasteners???

Definately Not...especially if you can't see 'em from shore.

: Take care,

: Nick.

You too!
