: Why are bulkheads not appropriate?

: Bill H.

Just like everyone else, I'm sure, I've been through every book and website I could find before starting to build my boat. I never saw that a "traditional", native made Greenland Kayak would ever have had bulkheads.

I did see a couple websites with folks who successfully modernized their designs to include bulkheads. and they look pretty functional. But I'd be concerned with air flow and drying the boat out properly.

I don't know... maybe I'm over thinking it! Gee, who would expect that on my first boat build!

Anyway, from the helpful posts I've gotten in reply to my original msg, I'm leaning toward setting up a haul system to pull commercial bags in and out of the kayak. I'm paying close attention to the suggestions for securing the cords out of the way so I don't get hung up in a wet exit.
