I think I'd add ama's (floats or sponsons) at the extreme aft end of the boat, well away from the cockpit and away from you when fishing. Don't have to be very wide nor be all that large for them to add considerable stability.

Nice thing about this is you can take them off and still have a nice boat to paddle when you're not fishing.
