: I'll be in Porcupine Plain during the long weekend. That is where my uncle
: has the family farm. I'll be ther for a few days to chat and paddle. There
: is a little known lake there that seems small but you can catch huge fish
: in it. Apparently the lake is 240-ft deep...that's what they say
: anyway...I don't know where they get that number from but judging by the
: fish caught...it has to be deeper than it looks. Grasslands sounds
: great...that is something I'd love to do if given the time. Hope all goes
: well with you. Take pics and post them...I'd love to see what it looks
: like over there.

Porcupine Plain eh? That's about 105km ENE of the family farm, as the magpie flies. Not sure which lake in the area is 240' deep, but I can sure name a few that aren't!

Not sure, but the Red Deer River north of PP may be paddle-able when you're there. Normally a spring runoff river but water levels all over have been unusually high. I've paddled the stretch from Hudson Bay (the small town in Sask, not the large ocean bay of a similar name) to Erwood. Hey, I just had a thought - paddle Red Deer River to the town of Hudson Bay and call that leg of your journey complete!

Cheers,
Bryan
