I'm a slow learner I guess and have a total of FIVE lights for my kayak, none of which currently work. That represents way too much money and frustration. I only paddle fresh water. I like to run a red/green front light and a 360 degree white light. Does anyone have recommendations for a durable marine light? I've even considered hard wiring in regular marine lights and rigging a rechargable battery pack to run them. Anyone done this?
To date I have 3 Seatle Sports, the orange one that rotates on it's base for a variety of lighting configurations such as flashing, red/green, constant on. A nice idea but the switch is complicated enough that perhaps dependability is precluded....mine certainly haven't held up well. I have a couple of Innovative Lighting units that are simpler in design, but even they have not lasted like they should. Am I jinxed? or have I just not yet found that one reliable light on the market?
