:
: If I do end up building it I think it would be a fun fishing platform, surf
: mayhem vehicle for out in the Triangle off of Tybee, guest boat for a non
: paddler as well as a nice kayak to explore tight places like creeks or
: swamps. After our chat I think it would make a wonderful extra boat to a
: collection. But if I needed a smaller capable boat I would lean toward a
: Tern 14 or similar boat from another designer. Eric Shade of Shearwater
: Boats has a some interesting smaller designs. He is a nice guy and easy to
: talk to.

exactly.

re. the CLC/Shearwater Duck the Penquino is a better paddling boat. The Ducks are less distinct regarding the pivot point whereas the Penquino is a better "point and shoot" boat when it comes to one paddle stroke to get where you want to go. A characteristic that becomes significant in rough water.

If Pygmy/Lockwood were to consider it a large Penquino ala Kruger Cruiser it would make a lot sense for the 50yr+ old non paddling crowd who would be more comfortable sitting with feet below seat. Like a Wenona Prism with the seat 4" above the floor.
