It's funny how much freedom there is in building something when you know the parameters. I built it with the idea that it's a spare kayak for non-paddling friends but also a rough water kayak for use as a dinghy on a sailboat where stepping down 2' from the deck justifies some beam. I'm thinking of putting some t-nuts in the shear to anchor small fenders lengthwise as it bangs against docks and other boats. Also going to try out various downwind sail rigs.
