Like most anything else, fractions arn't all that difficult if you use them all the time, if you never use them then they are somewhat tricky. Can always just convert them to decimal, then it's simple.

I suspect the reason's this thread is this long is two fold, one people hate fractions ('cept me) and it's winter in the northern hemisphere so no one can just go paddling ;)
